Homeowner Assistance Options
If you are struggling to make your mortgage payment during the COVID-19 epidemic, there are hardship programs in place to help you. The Federal Housing Finance Agency (FHFA) is recommending that those who have been directly or indirectly affected by coronavirus, reach out to their mortgage provider as soon as possible.
Contact information for your mortgage servicer can be found on your monthly mortgage statement or coupon book.
If you have mortgages with Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, they have their own dedicated webpages for homeowners, with online tools for determining if your mortgage is owned by Fannie Mae or Freddie Mac:

Freddie Mac has explicitly specified that landlords who agree to not evict tenants for nonpayment during this time will be eligible for assistance. If your ability to pay the mortgage on your rental property is impacted by your tenants’ inability to pay due to COVID-19, reach out to your loan servicer (the company listed on your payment coupons) to request help.
